2008 Workshops

Taco Party

What better way to start off the new year than with a taco party. We will be making and arranging the following items on a wooden cutting board: a frying pan filled with cooked ground beef and onions, a taco shell box, empty taco shells, mounds of diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sliced cheese, a cutting knife, and serving spoon. We will also be making finished tacos and placing these on a platter with napkins, ready to serve to our guests. No taco party is complete without sangria so we will be filling a glass pitcher and 2 tall glasses with sangria loaded with pineapple, grapes, cherries, green apple slices with the peels still on, and orange slices. This is a class for all levels of expertise.

Fee:  $50.00 (this fee includes all materials needed to finish this project).

Time: 1:00 - 4:00

Location: Sarasota Cay Club on Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, Florida.

Students will need to bring: an x-acto knife, tweezers, tacky glue, a medium pointed paintbrush, and a polymer clay templete (can be purchased at any craft store).

To register:  Please send your check to: Donna Eckel, Raggedy D's Miniatures, P.O. Box 357506, Gainesville, Fl 32635.  For more information, please email me at raggedyds@aol.com.

All of your pastries will be arranged in a basket, a container, or on paper lace and placed in a pretty green wire wicker hutch. The techniques you will be learning in this class will allow you to make any bread or pastry from a photograph. A fun and easy class!

Snow Queen Fairy

Spend an enchanting day learning how to make a simple but elegant costume for this 5" fairy. You will also learn how to make beautiful fairy wings from fibers. I will have several different colors of fabric, trims, and fairy wing material so that everyone can make their fairy unique. We will be making a simple wig and adorning the top of her head with a glass crown. Our fairies will be holding a crystal ball and sitting on a base that we will be accenting with a flow of water, snow, and a sprig of white angel pine.

I will be teaching this class in Nashua, New Hampshire in July at NAME's Nationals.  You must be a member of NAME and attend the convention to take this class.

Country Sunflowers

Learn how to make ten beautiful sunflowers and then arrange them in a bronze watering can. This finished arrangement would be perfect for any outdoor scene and would certainly add a special touch to any country kitchen. This is a fun and easy class.
